Job summary

Maxlinear Asia Singapore Private Limited in Singapore is seeking an experienced RTL/FPGA emulation engineer to own modelling from RTL designs using emulation/prototyping tools. You will architect and validate emulation solutions, interfacing with hardware and software collaterals for accelerated verification.

You will map complex SOC designs to multi-FPGA platforms (HAPS-80, Palladium), develop validation plans, and collaborate with pre-silicon teams to accelerate verification and SW development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronics/Computer Engineering.
• 10+ years in digital design/verification, emulation/FPGA prototyping and system validation.
• Proficient with RTL languages (VHDL/Verilog) and emulation/FPGA flows.
• Experience mapping SOC designs to multi-FPGA platforms (HAPS-80/Palladium).
• Experience in silicon verification and test plan execution.
• Strong teamwork, proactive and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Create emulation/FPGA models from RTL designs using synthesis, partitioning, and routing tools.
• Define RTL changes for emulation/FPGA; develop hardware/software collaterals and integration.
• Test and debug emulation/FPGA models; develop new capabilities and HW/SW tools.
• Improve usability by RTL validation and debugging failing RTL tests on the emulation platform.
• Develop automation aids, flows and scripts to improve emulation efficiency and equipment utilization.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:-

• Create emulation/FPGA models from a Register Transfer Level RTL design using emulation/FPGA synthesis, partitioning and routing tools
• Define and document RTL changes required for emulation/FPGA. Develops hardware and software collaterals and integrates it with the emulation/FPGA model
• Test and debug the emulation/FPGA model and collaterals. Defines and develops new capabilities & HW/SW tools to enable acceleration of RTL and improve emulation/FPGA model usability for preSilicon and postSilicon functional validation as well as SW development/validation
• Develop improvements to usability by RTL validation and debugging of failing RTL tests on the emulation platform. Interfaces with and provides guidance to preSilicon Validation teams for optimizing preSilicon validation environments, test suites and methodologies for emulation efficiency
• Develop and apply automation aids, flows and scripts in support of emulation ease of use and improvement of equipment utilization

Job Requirements:-

• Bachelor or Master's Degree in Electrical & Electronics/Computer Engineering
• At least 10 years and above of related working experience in digital design/verification, emulation/FPGA prototyping and system validation
• Knowledge of RTL language (e.g. VHDL, Verilog), in-circuit emulation, simulation acceleration and FPGA prototyping
• Familiar with verification/emulation/prototyping tools and methodologies. Real experience of mapping complex SOC design into multi-FPGA platforms/emulators and hands on experience with such systems, e.g. HAPS-80, Palladium or equivalent
• Experience in silicon verification, test plan development and execution
• Experience in system board design/debugging and usage of lab equipment, e.g. oscilloscopes and logic analyzers is an advantage
• Understanding of standard interfaces and bus protocols: PCI/USB/ETH/SPI/I2C/PCIe//SPI/I2C/AXI/AMBA
• Team player, very proactive and self-motivated
