Job summary

NEWTONE SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Database Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise database environments.

You will ensure database availability, performance, security, backup and recovery for mission-critical applications in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams. The role emphasizes hands-on tuning, capacity planning, and implementing high-availability configurations.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Strong DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
Hands-on experience with performance tuning, schema optimization, partitioning, and configuration.
Experience with high availability technologies such as clustering, mirroring, and Availability Groups.
Strong backup, recovery, security, and disaster recovery knowledge.
Experience with SSRS and SSIS/ETL.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
MongoDB experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise database platforms.
Monitor database health and perform performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity management.
Manage database backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and high-availability configurations.
Implement database security, user access controls, permissions, and security best practices.
Troubleshoot database incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Support database upgrades, patching, migrations, and disaster recovery exercises.
Work with developers on database schema design, data organization, and application performance improvements.
Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.
