Job summary

Manpower Staffing Services (Singapore) Pte Ltd invites applications for an experienced Database Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise databases in a secure, scalable environment.

You will provision and configure databases, implement security controls, monitor health and performance, and drive automation to streamline daily tasks. Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to support critical business needs securely.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 4 - 7 years of experience in Database Administration with hands-on expertise in database administration and security management, SQL development and programming, database performance tuning and optimization, HA/DR solutions.
• Hands-on experience administering databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Knowledge of database management, security, backup and recovery, and system administration.
• Experience with SQL programming, database performance tuning, and scalability optimization.
• Practical experience troubleshooting database and server performance issues.
• Passion for automation, standardization, and implementing operational best practices.
• Experience with cloud database technologies, particularly AWS RDS, is a plus.
• Relevant database, cloud, or security certifications are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provision and configure databases, including the installation and management of required licenses.
• Implement and maintain database security controls, backup strategies, and recovery procedures.
• Monitor database health, performance, availability, user access, and security compliance.
• Manage database configurations and parameters to optimize performance and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database and server performance issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions to streamline database administration tasks and operational processes.
• Implement configuration management practices to support business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
• Support highly available and secure database platforms while balancing usability and operational efficiency.
• Perform database maintenance, patching, upgrades, and capacity planning activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to support business and project requirements.
