Job summary

Stroke Support Station in Singapore is seeking a Speech Therapist with AHPC registration and a degree or master in Speech Therapy to lead assessments, plan interventions, and support stroke survivors and caregivers.

The role involves supervising therapists, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, setting SMART goals, documenting outcomes, and contributing to ongoing education in a compassionate, person-centered manner.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master in Speech Therapy and AHPC registered.
• Able to converse in English and other languages.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Speech Therapist for Senior role.
• Dynamic and proactive with good public relation and communication skills.
• Strong management, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate and holistic speech and language assessments for clients during admission, care plan reviews and discharge.
• Select appropriate outcome measures to evaluate progress and guide clinical decisions.
• Formulate person-centered and SMART goals with clients and stakeholders.
• Design evidence-based speech and language interventions.
• Document results, plans, and outcomes according to guidelines.
• Communicate results, plans, and discharge details to clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor and supervise therapists and support staff.
• Identify safety risks and implement preventive measures.
• Conduct in-house training for staff, caregivers and volunteers.
• Engage in continuing education to enhance skills.

Job description

Stroke Support Station (S3) is a non-profit organization in Singapore dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for stroke survivors and their caregivers. S3 provides a range of programs focused on rehabilitation, empowerment, and community reintegration. Through specialized activities, wellness programs, and caregiver support, S3 aims to foster physical, emotional, and social well-being. The organization also advocates for stroke awareness and collaborates with healthcare professionals, volunteers, and partners to offer holistic, person-centered care for the stroke recovery journey.

You Will:

• Conduct accurate and holistic speech and language specific assessment for clients during admission, periodic care plan reviews and discharge
• Select appropriate and specific outcome measures to enable evaluation of therapy progress and outcomes in a timely manner to guide clinical decision making
• Formulate person centered and SMART goals in collaboration with clients and relevant stakeholders
• Design plans and conduct speech and language interventions for clients in a person centered manner, that is also evidence based
• Document assessment results, therapy plans, interventions, goals and outcomes measures according to guidelines
• Communicate assessment results, intervention plans, goals, outcomes and discharge plans to clients and relevant stakeholders
• Formulate discharge and continuity of care plans based on clients’ performance in consultation with relevant stakeholders
• Mentor and supervise therapists and support staff for professional development and day-to-day job scope
• Identify safety risks and issues, recommend preventive and corrective care measures
• Conduct in-house training for staff, caregivers and volunteers
• Engage in continuing education to further skills and knowledge in the field of practice

You Are:

• Someone who have a Degree or Master in Speech Therapy and is Fully registered with AHPC
• Able to converse in English and other languages due to the diverse profiles of our clients
• Someone with a minimum of 5 years experience as a Speech Therapist to be considered for a Senior role
• Dynamic and proactive personality with good public relation and communication skills
• Someone who has good management, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
