Job summary

Exyte in Singapore is seeking a seasoned Project Accountant to manage the financials of dedicated projects and the overall project accounting function.

You will own invoicing, cash collection, cost accruals, revenue recognition, and monthly reviews from a financial perspective while ensuring compliance with contracts and group policies. A CPA and construction industry experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with a bachelor’s degree.
• 8+ years in accounting or related field without a bachelor’s degree.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Project accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the project accounting function for dedicated project(s).
• Understand project contractual scopes and incorporate details into project lifecycle responsibilities.
• Manage invoicing and debt collection to drive positive cash flow.
• Conduct monthly project progress reviews, variance and risk analyses.
• Perform monthly cost accruals.
• Evaluate monthly revenue recognition, earned value trends, forecasts.
• Track budget vs. plan and analyze non-billables to maximize profit.
• Complete project commercial close-out tasks related to accounting.
• Ensure proper accounting and tax treatment for each transaction.
• Reconcile ERP and Project Controls systems for reporting consistency.
• Maintain inter-company agreements per IC policy and transfer pricing.
• Propose process improvements for the project accounting function.

The Project Accountant will be responsible for project accounting tasks to achieve smooth operations on either a dedicated project or on the overall project accounting function.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

• Own project accounting function on a dedicated project(s).


• Ensures understanding of the project contractual scopes, commercial terms and conditions, rights, liabilities and risks (thorough contract review and incorporation of details into project lifecycle responsibilities)


• Ensure completeness, timeliness and accuracy of all matters relating to invoices to clients. Ensure debts are collected to drive positive cash.


• Owns and conduct monthly project progress reviews from financial perspective, performed variance analysis and risk contingency analysis and raise immediate concerns to leadership team if any.


• Owns and do monthly cost accrual.


• Owns and do monthly revenue recognition evaluation, earned value trending, forecasting and compile other key project indicators.


• Track budget against plan, review costs, analyse non-billables, ensuring profit are maximized.


• Completes project commercial close out on the tasks related to the project accounting function


• Owns and ensure proper accounting and tax treatment are applied for each transaction.


• Owns reconciliation of accounting (ERP) and Project Controls systems to ensure consistency in reporting (Project cost report and financial project report).


• Owns and ensure Inter-company agreements are in place and adhere to group IC policy and transfer pricing compliance.


• Proactively advice on improving the processes related to the project accounting function.
