Marina Bay Sands is seeking an experienced Sommelier to join our beverage team in Singapore. Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the wine/sake trade and passionate about wine/sake service.
• Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) or Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) certification would be an advantage.
• Extensive knowledge of all wine/sake and wine/sake service, encompassing alcoholic or non-alcoholic items.

Responsibilities

• Have a high level of knowledge of wines/sake/cocktails and upsell to guests.
• Set up and maintain wine/sake displays in cellars and cabinets coordinated with the beverage list.
• Regularly update beverage list to reflect current products and vintages.
• Provide feedback to management on guest comments about the beverage list.
• Recommend wines/sakes to meet guest expectations and drive guest satisfaction.
• Coordinate with management to identify wines/sakes to upsell and manage stock levels.
• Maintain wine/sake par levels and proper use of glassware and related equipment.
• Execute special beverage promotions to increase beverage sales.
• Maintain sales records and report changes in stock such as vintages and 86’d wines.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are complied with.
• Assist in managing front of house and beverage team for smooth operations.
• Maximize beverage sales opportunities and uphold Order of Service standards.
• Regularly educate staff on wine, sake, and cocktails knowledge.
