Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the technical direction of the regulatory reporting engineering function. You will work with backend and frontend engineers, shaping architecture and acting as a key technical partner to Compliance, Legal, and Finance stakeholders.

You will drive the roadmap for automated regulatory reporting, data pipelines, and AI-assisted workflows, ensuring reports are accurate, timely, and auditable across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong backend foundations in Python, Kotlin, or Java; SQL at scale.
• Proven track record delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programs.
• Able to translate regulatory requirements into engineering designs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for regulatory reporting automation across entities and jurisdictions.
• Lead architecture decisions across data pipelines and AI-enabled workflows.
• Own delivery of regulatory reporting milestones with accuracy and auditable outputs.
• Serve as engineering partner to Compliance, Legal, and Finance; translate requirements into specs.
• Drive adoption of AI/LLM tooling to automate review and gap analysis.
• Maintain data quality, testing, and reconciliation standards across reporting models.
• Collaborate with Core Banking engineering on shared data platform capabilities.
