Job summary

GovTech in Singapore is hiring senior software engineers to design and deliver robust, scalable web applications for public sector needs. You will work across product, design, and engineering teams to translate complex requirements into secure, maintainable systems.

You will contribute to cloud-based deployments, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining high engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building large-scale, high-availability software systems serving significant user bases.
• Strong proficiency in modern full-stack web technologies: Next.js/React.js (frontend) and Java/Python/TypeScript (backend).
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles: design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms, containerisation, and modern deployment practices including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing robust, scalable software solutions with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Writing clean, well-tested code and conducting code reviews to uphold high standards.
• Participating in architectural decision-making and technology selection.
• Contributing to the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment and monitoring.
• Mentoring junior engineers and sharing knowledge through docs and pair programming sessions.
• Ensuring smooth deployment pipelines, monitoring, and incident response procedures across teams.
• Advancing Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD practices within the MSF Engineering Landscape.
