Job summary

Activate Interactive Singapore is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (DevOps) for a fixed-term 1-year engagement with MOF projects. You will deliver high-quality code, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform procurement solutions.

You will work on a government-facing stack using GCC/SHIP-HATS and SGTS, emphasizing security, resiliency, and performance. A strong background in Java/Python, REST APIs, and CI/CD is essential, with a passion for public

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on DevOps software engineering experience using Agile methodologies such as SCRUM.
Experience with Government Commercial Cloud (GCC), SHIP-HATS, and the SG Tech Stack (SGTS).
Strong proficiency in Java or Python, ReactJS, RESTful APIs, ETL/AWS Glue for data migration, and databases.
Experience with modern full-stack technologies spanning SaaS, bespoke, and COTS solutions.
Proven track record delivering large-scale, high-availability solutions, preferably in the public sector.
Knowledge of data protection regulations and privacy considerations in the public sector.
Passionate about public good and engineering excellence, with a strong sense of craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

Deliver moderately complex features spanning multiple services or integrations with architectural considerations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align on product needs.
Proactively reduce technical debt and contribute to long-term maintainability.
Contribute to reusable test automation frameworks and support CI/CD, observability, and automation practices.
Build deep knowledge of your team's product architecture, dependencies, and data flows.
Author technical design documents and conduct architecture reviews for junior engineers.
Lead incident triage and drive post-incident reviews with root cause analysis and preventive actions.
Ensure monitoring and alerting are in place for features you own.
Treat security, compliance, and performance as design constraints, not afterthoughts.
Mentor and support junior team members through knowledge sharing and problem decomposition.
