Job summary

The Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Limited in Singapore seeks a dedicated Software Engineer to support the Life Asia and LIS Policy Administration systems, focusing on stability, scalability, and continuous improvement.

You will develop and maintain AS400 Smart/COBOL based modules, collaborate with analysts, manage configurations and releases, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering high quality solutions on schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, CS, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience on AS400 Smart/COBOL.
Hands-on with Life Asia and LIS in support or development.
Proficient in SMART/400, COBOL/400, CL/400, AS400/Query.
Experience with MQ and WebAPI integration.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Life Asia and LIS Policy Administration system.
Collaborate with Business Analysts on requirements and design.
Manage configuration items and ensure traceability from development through production.
Deliver high-quality solutions within SLAs and schedules.
Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and security practices.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate risks.
Maintain documentation and provide production support.
