Job summary
ASM in Singapore is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the hardware-software interface team, delivering reliable software for advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment used worldwide. You will lead investigations, influence system architecture, and drive AI-enabled development to accelerate problem resolution, improve quality, and scale engineering excellence across global product platforms.

Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience in embedded or hardware-integrated systems.
- Strong C++ and/or C# development experience.
- Experience with multi-threaded applications.
- Experience with software specifications, APIs and documentation.
- Knowledge of memory architecture, debugging and performance analysis.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and generative AI practices.
- willingness to travel 10-25% domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical investigations involving software-related safety interlocks and validate corrective actions.
- Analyze interactions across subsystems to understand platform behavior.
- Drive RCCA efforts using packet captures, log analysis, and system troubleshooting.
- Design, evaluate and improve subsystem architectures including multi-threaded apps.
- Develop, deploy, maintain and enhance software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex software issues including real-time control systems.
- Serve as escalation point for field engineers and customers worldwide.
- Collaborate with QA and Support to reproduce field issues and improve regression tests.
- Author and review software specifications, design documents and test plans.
- Investigate technical inquiries and provide clear analyses with solutions.
- Influence software tools, processes and design decisions.
- Coordinate rapid software fixes and deployments in customer environments.
- Present technical findings and data-driven insights to internal teams and customers.
