Job summary

Xcellink Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Senior SDET to partner with engineering, product, and DevOps to embed quality early in development. You will own vendor-managed automation and transition it to in-house ownership while ensuring fast risk-based confidence in releases during migrations and platform modernisation.

The role requires taking ownership of test automation standards, expanding coverage across web, mobile, and backend, and improving release quality to boost user satisfaction.

Job description

The Senior SDET will work closely with engineering, product, architecture, DevOps/SRE, security, and delivery teams to embed quality earlier in the development process. The role will establish effective automated quality gates, transfer vendor-managed automation into sustainable in-house ownership, and provide fast, risk-based confidence in releases during system migrations, refactoring, and platform modernisation.

Accountabilities

Take ownership of existing vendor-managed test automation and establish clear standards for quality, governance, documentation, CI integration, reliability, and maintainability.

Improve the coverage, reliability, and efficiency of automated testing across web, mobile, and backend platforms.

Enhance release quality to deliver a better user experience and improve customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Work with developers to design and implement tests at the appropriate level of the test pyramid or testing trophy. This includes unit, component, contract, API, integration, end-to-end, visual, and accessibility testing.
• Set up automated quality gates throughout the software development lifecycle so that issues are identified as early as possible.
• Define and track test automation metrics to support continuous improvement and accountability.
• Continuously improve the coverage, reliability, and efficiency of test automation.
• Use AI agents and coding assistants responsibly to support test planning, requirements analysis, risk identification, test design, automation development, test data generation, failure investigation, coverage-gap analysis, documentation, and code refactoring.
• Develop internal tools, libraries, and platforms that make quality practices more accessible to both engineering and non-engineering teams.
• Work with developers to improve system testability, observability, test-data setup, environment stability, and release confidence.
• Collaborate with engineering and Quality Engineering stakeholders to align test automation strategies, standards, and objectives.
• Work with vendors to ensure automation solutions meet the organisation's required standards.
• Produce clear technical documentation, including RFCs, test plans, READMEs, onboarding guides, and quality playbooks.

• Integrated automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Used AI coding assistants or agents, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools, for testing, automation, documentation, failure investigation, or quality analysis.
• Managed test environments and automation infrastructure using cloud-based services such as AWS, GCP, BrowserStack, or LambdaTest.
• Developed internal testing tools and utilities that made Quality Engineering practices easier to use and improved productivity for both engineering and non-engineering teams.
