The Role
As Senior Offshore Ship Broker/ Head of Offshore, you will take a leadership role in developing SSY’s Offshore Shipbroking business, with responsibility for strengthening client relationships, growing the business and providing strategic direction to the team.
Working closely with colleagues across SSY’s global offices to identify opportunities, share market intelligence and leverage the firm’s international network to deliver value to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop SSY Singapore’s Offshore Shipbroking business and team.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, operators, charterers, offshore contractors and other key industry stakeholders.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to grow the Offshore desk and SSY’s market presence.
- Provide commercial and strategic direction on market opportunities, fixtures, negotiations and client engagement.
- Lead and support negotiations, ensuring commercially sound outcomes for clients and SSY.
- Monitor and analyse offshore market trends, fleet developments, supply and demand dynamics and emerging opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with SSY’s global Offshore and Broking teams to maximise cross-office opportunities and client coverage.
- Mentor, develop and support team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Represent SSY at industry conferences, client meetings and relevant maritime events.
- Ensure the business operates in accordance with SSY’s internal policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
We are looking for an established Offshore Shipbroker with a strong commercial track record and an extensive network within the offshore and maritime industry.
You will ideally bring
- Significant experience in Offshore Shipbroking, with a strong understanding of the offshore vessel market.
- A proven track record in business development, client relationship management and broking.
- An established network of contacts across owners, operators, charterers and offshore industry participants.
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
- The ability to identify market opportunities and translate them into business growth.
