Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation in Singapore is seeking a Service Engineer, 2-stroke Services, to perform field service activities and lead on-site teams. The role includes mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, commissioning of service products, and customer interaction.

The candidate should have a BSC or Diploma in mechanical/marine engineering with extensive experience, strong English, and the ability to travel up to 80%.

• BSC degree with 2-5 years in related field.
• Diploma in mechanical and marine engineering with more than 5 years' experience.
• Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
• Ability to create internal and external work reports.
• Ability to communicate and interact well with customers and other stakeholders.
• Literacy in Information Management Applications/ Tools such as MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan.
• Perform mechanical/electrical and troubleshooting on 2-stroke engines and ancillary equipment.
• Perform technical advisory for repair activities executed on customers' responsibility.
• Commissioning of service products.
• On-site team leading and managing of the assigned team and related activities during the work execution.
• Interact with customers during the work execution.
• Interacting with Field Services back office and Technical Services during work execution.
• Perform internal and external progress status updates of the assigned work.
• Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
• Create the Service Work Reports.
• Proactively consulting, advising, and promoting available Wärtsilä solutions and products to customer.

As a Service Engineer, 2-stroke Services, your responsibilities for the role include:

• Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan
• Perform mechanical/electrical and troubleshooting on 2-stroke engines and ancillary equipment
• Perform technical advisory for repair activities executed on customers' responsibility

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• BSC Degree with 2-5 years of working experience in the related field
• Diploma in mechanical, and marine engineering with more than 5 years of working experience in the related field
• Excellent technical knowledge and problem‑solving skills
• Good command of English, both written and oral
• Ability to work independently
• Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time
• Ability to create internal and external work reports
• Ability to communicate and interact well with customers and other stakeholders
• Literacy in Information Management Applications/ Tools such as MS Office
