Job summary

Wärtsilä Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Service Engineer, Propulsion to join our Singapore team. The role focuses on mechanical maintenance, propulsion troubleshooting, and supervising commissioning for new builds across Wärtsilä propulsion systems.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of field service experience, strong knowledge of propulsion and control systems, and good command of English. Diploma/BSc in relevant engineering fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience on propulsion field service tasks.
• Strong understanding of propulsion systems and marine engineering.
• Proficient in reading electrical and automation schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform propulsion maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Execute warranty, commissioning, and supervision of new builds.
• Upgrade propulsion control systems.
• Prepare service work reports.
• Coordinate with Wärtsilä field service stakeholders and customers.
• Carry out system upgrades for propulsion.
• Oversee warranty and field service activities.
• Support engineering documentation and drawings.

We are looking for a Senior Service Engineer, Propulsion. This is a permanent opportunity, and its location is Singapore.

What will you be doing as Senior Service Engineer? Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Mechanical maintenance and overhauling skill require for FPP, CPP, Gearbox, Transverse thruster, Azimuth thruster and WaterJet etc
• Carry out Propulsion product trouble shoot, maintenance and investigation
• Execute Propulsion product warranty, commissioning work and supervision of new building project
• Perform system upgrade for Propulsion control system
• Executing warranty, commissioning work & supervision of Field Service.
• Preparing service work reports
• System upgrade for Wärtsilä Propulsion System
• Technical communications with Wärtsilä field service stakeholders and customers

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• Ability to work on engine/propulsion with field service & marine engineer background
• Ability to understand, use and correct electrical and automation schematics and drawings, and related component level documentation.
• Possess suitable real-world knowledge and experience related to control system specification and design, marine power distribution, motor control, process sensors and instrumentation, valves, pumps, fans and other process system componentry.
• Knowledge of machinery/field service work experience
• More than 3 years' experience of similar task
• Good command of written and verbal English, Diploma/BSc in Mechanical, Marine, Electric & Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who have propulsion FS experience.
