Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join the Security Search and Observability organization for APJ. You will lead threat modelling, run vulnerability assessments with agents, and guide remediation while engaging with customers and partners to improve AWS security offerings across cloud and AI workloads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship experience troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating tasks with command line tools.
• 5+ years in identifying security issues and risks and developing mitigation plans.
• Experience in industry-based security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques.
• Knowledge of at least two of Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the field-facing security engineer for APJ, running early-access and gated previews: threat modelling, vulnerability assessment using security agents, and remediation guidance.
• Partner with third-party security providers to identify high-signal findings and turn them into correlated, high-fidelity detections.
• Shape detection coverage and influence service roadmaps from customer feedback, feeding insights back to science and engineering teams.
• Stay up to date with cloud security and threat landscape, including AI/ML-related threats.
• Drive detection engineering practices, including threat modelling, value evaluation, false-positive reduction, and coverage measurement.
• Collaborate across science, engineering, partner, and field teams to support global customers and distributed stakeholders.
