Job summary

Amazon's AWS Security Incident Response team seeks technical Security Engineers who are passionate about learning, collaborate well in a team, and can explain security concepts to non-technical audiences. You will monitor networks and systems for threats, triage alerts, document suspicious activity, and report issues for rapid handling.

The role includes on-call duties and working with AWS technologies to protect customers at scale.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience with web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation (non-internship).
Knowledge of system, network and OS.
Experience with coding/scripting in one or more languages (Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, or PowerShell).

Responsibilities

Respond to threat findings that indicate unauthorized activity has occurred.
Identify, evaluate and communicate security threats, risks and vulnerabilities, and propose remediation.
Contribute to the development of security automation and security posture improvements.
Track and report on the effectiveness of AWS detective controls such as GuardDuty and partner products.
Develop processes and policies to increase security response effectiveness.
On-call support: periodic on-call responsibilities including weekends.
