Job Description

The Robotics and Autonomous Systems Division at the Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR, Singapore, invites applications for a research scientist position. We are seeking candidates with passion to conduct R&D in Embodied AI, focusing on developing novel architecture and models that enable fast actions and reactions approaches based on a Robotic Foundation Model or Multimodal Action model.

The successful candidate(s) will conduct research and development of novel architectures or models, collaborate with other researchers to perform simulation and actual data collection, and test and integrate these solutions into real robots for performance benchmarking. They will also work with stakeholders to secure collaborations and future R&D projects that facilitate translation or adoption of the developed solutions.

Job Requirements

• PhD in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science/Engineering, Machine Learning, or related fields.
• Strong background and research experience in Embodied AI, Robotics Foundation Model or related research with a solid publication track record.
• Strong software development skills in C/C++, Python, and PyTorch.
• Good knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System), Linux, and tools relevant to Foundation Model development, training, and inference.
• Experience integrating solutions into an actual robotics system.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, proactive, ownership-oriented, passionate about robotics, and resourceful.
