Qualifications

• PhD in AI, Computer Science, Operations Research or related field with emphasis on optimization, planning or scheduling.
• 0–3 years post-PhD research experience for Scientist; 5+ years for Senior Scientist.
• Strong modeling and optimization background; experience with flexible job shop scheduling is advantageous.
• Programming skills for developing optimization algorithms.
• Track record of scientific publications in reputable venues.
• Deep understanding of planning and scheduling domain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research into innovative optimization approaches for complex planning and scheduling problems, including flexible job shop scheduling.
• Develop mathematical models and optimization approaches for large-scale scheduling with multiple machines and resources.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate research into deployable solutions across industry sectors.
• Engage with industry partners to understand real-world planning challenges and align research directions.
• Formulate research directions and proposals to secure funding.
• Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and technical presentations.
