Job summary

EA RECRUITMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Senior SCADA/IBMS Engineer to act as the technical authority for SCADA and IBMS software architecture, standards, and governance across multiple projects.

The role focuses on engineering best practices, standardized deployment methodologies, and system reliability, leading architecture standards, QA/QC frameworks, graphics libraries and procedures for robust, scalable SCADA/IBMS solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years in SCADA/IBMS/BMS or building automation systems.
• Strong SCADA architecture, software configuration, system integration and troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering standards, architecture guidelines, and best practices for SCADA/IBMS deployment.
• Define server sizing, memory, storage and VM configurations based on project scale.
• Establish standard procedures for SCADA development, alarm management, historical data logging and integration.
• Design standardized SCADA graphics libraries, HMI templates, and access frameworks.
• Develop QA/QC audit checklists to ensure compliance with standards.
• Conduct technical audits and provide optimization recommendations for performance and stability.
• Troubleshoot complex software, database, and integration issues across projects.
• Provide technical leadership during design, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Prepare documentation, procedures, standards manuals and troubleshooting guides.
• Support sales with innovative software concepts and advanced system integrations.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance performance, scalability, and cybersecurity.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior SCADA / IBMS Engineer (Architecture & Standards) to serve as the technical authority for SCADA and Integrated Building Management System (IBMS) software architecture, engineering standards, and system governance across multiple projects.

This role focuses on developing engineering best practices, standardizing software deployment methodologies, improving system reliability, and providing expert technical support to project teams. The successful candidate will lead the development of architecture standards, QA/QC frameworks, graphics libraries, and technical procedures to ensure robust, scalable, and high-performance SCADA and IBMS solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering standards, architecture guidelines, and best practices for SCADA and IBMS software deployment.
• Define server sizing standards, memory allocation requirements, storage architecture, and virtual machine configurations based on project scale and operational requirements.
• Establish standard engineering procedures for SCADA development, feature implementation, alarm management, historical data logging, and system integration.
• Design and maintain standardized SCADA graphics libraries, HMI templates, navigation structures, user access frameworks, and operating philosophies.
• Develop and implement Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) audit checklists to ensure compliance with established engineering standards.
• Conduct technical audits of project software configurations and provide recommendations for performance optimization and system stability improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex software, database, communication, and integration issues across project deployments.
• Provide technical leadership and advanced support to engineering teams during design, testing, commissioning, and post-handover stages.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, engineering procedures, standards manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
• Support the sales and business development teams by developing innovative software concepts, advanced system integrations, and value-added technical solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance, scalability, cybersecurity, and operational efficiency.

About you

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in SCADA, IBMS, BMS, Industrial Automation, or Building Automation Systems.
• Strong experience in SCADA architecture, software configuration, system integration, and troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on experience with industrial communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT (advantageous).
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases, historical data logging (Historian), alarm management systems, virtualization platforms and server environments, system performance optimization.
