Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Project Manager to lead a strategic, large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation. This role requires a hands-on leader who will be accountable for the full end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from initial preparation through post-go-live stabilisation, within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Governance

• Own the end-to-end project lifecycle (Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Run), ensuring delivery against agreed schedule, budget and scope baselines.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Project Sponsor and Steering Committee.

• Chair steering committee meetings and manage governance cadence, escalation paths and reporting cycles.

Planning & Execution

• Manage the Integrated Project Plan, critical path and inter-workstream dependencies across Finance-to-Manage (FTM), Hire-to-Retire (HTR), Procure-to-Pay (PTP) and technical/data workstreams.

• Lead the delivery team, including functional leads, Technical/Basis, Data Migration, Security & Authorizations, Testing, OCM and subcontractors.

Commercial & Quality Control

• Manage project commercials, including resource loading, invoicing milestones, effort tracking against agreed baselines and project financial performance.

• Own the Risk and Issue Register, Change Control process and Variation Management.

• Govern quality gates and deliverable acceptance against contractual criteria.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable public-sector and security requirements.

• Manage data residency and applicable data-handling obligations throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Transition & Stabilization

• Manage cutover activities and Hypercare support.

• Prepare Go/No-Go decisions and manage post-go-live stabilisation efforts.

Required Experience

• Minimum 12 years of SAP delivery experience.

• Proven track record of leading at least two full-lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations end-to-end.

Required Expertise

Methodology & Governance

• Deep expertise in SAP Activate methodology.

• Formal Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent.

Functional & Technical Breadth

• Sufficient understanding of FTM, HTR and PTP processes to challenge design decisions and manage cross-workstream dependencies.

• Experience overseeing Integration Architecture, Data Migration Governance, Cutover Planning, Testing Strategy (SIT/UAT/Regression) and Authorization Design.

Regulated Environment Delivery

• Proven experience operating under structured procurement and contractual requirements.

• Experience managing projects involving security, data-handling and compliance requirements.

• Familiarity with audit and compliance requirements within highly regulated environments.

Stakeholder Management

• Demonstrated experience reporting to senior executives, project sponsors or steering committees.

Qualifications & Certifications

Mandatory

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related discipline.

• PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent project management certification.

• SAP Activate Project Manager certification.

Preferred

• SAP S/4HANA certification in at least one functional or technical area.

• Agile/Scrum credential, such as PSM or SAFe, for hybrid delivery models.

• Relevant information security or compliance certification.
