Job summary

Sembcorp Specialised Construction, a subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, is seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer to lead the civil and structural aspects of building projects in Singapore.

You will supervise day-to-day works, manage RTOs across disciplines, ensure compliance with BCA and codes, and coordinate with project managers, clients, consultants, and suppliers. The role requires readiness for overtime and shifts.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of civil engineering experience with at least three years in site management.
• PEB Singapore-registered qualification or equivalent.
• IES/ACES accreditation recognized.
• Proficient in contract administration under PSSCOC and statutory compliance.
• Ability to lead RTOs and supervise multi-disciplinary works.
• Willing to perform overtime and/or shift work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day civil and structural works per project specs and approvals.
• Manage Resident Technical Officers (RTOs) across architectural, structural, and M&E works.
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and implement corrective actions; assist in reporting.
• Ensure compliance with BCA requirements, codes, regulations and policies.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintain high quality control.
• Maintain accurate site records, schedules, safety compliance, and meetings.
• Validate overtime requisitions and supervise temporary works when necessary.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Attend client/consultant site and technical meetings as required.
• Report defects and non-conformances to the Consultant; coordinate testing.
• Prepare defect lists and oversee rectification work.
• Provide regular reports to Architect, Engineer, and Owner’s Project Manager.
• Inspect façade works and specialist installations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Employer.
