Job summary

The Centre of Excellence in Maritime Safety (CEMS) invites applications for an appointee to join the AI & Software team in developing digital solutions to enhance simulator training and assessment, and to innovate training pedagogy for the maritime industry.

The appointee will collaborate across R&D, operations, and education, contributing to department- and school-level software initiatives supporting digitalisation and automation.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in CS/CE or related field.
• Experience in production-grade software development and RESTful API design.
• Strong coding skills in multiple languages and quick learning ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects across the full SDLC with industry partners and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with AI team to deploy NLP, computer vision, and data analytics into simulation platforms.
• Work with third-party simulator providers to design reusable code libraries and scalable APIs.
• Improve software systems by identifying bottlenecks, refactoring, and enhancing maintainability.
• Contribute to new R&D projects aligned with CEMS objectives and mentor junior engineers.
• Deliver regular project updates and technical presentations to senior management.
