Job summary

ASM International in Singapore seeks a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering (CSA) to design and deliver advanced control software powering semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will develop Windows-based, real-time applications and work with global teams to drive automation and connectivity.

You will contribute to AI-enabled development and tackle complex software, electrical, and mechanical integration problems, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions across product platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years in software development in a full-stack or systems-focused environment.
• 10 years in software development including architecture and design.
• Experience developing machine control software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Hands-on with factory automation systems and related controls.
• Familiar with SECS/GEM, GEM300, and EDA (Interface A) protocols.
• Experience with Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 10–25% domestically and internationally.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and modern software practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Develop applications for Windows and real-time operating systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in real-time control systems.
• Collaborate with field engineers and global customers on escalations.
• Write and review software requirements, specs, and test plans.
• Evaluate tools, processes, and best practices for software engineering.
