Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Real-Time Payments organization. You will be hands-on, delivering high-quality features across design, development, testing, and rollout phases for mission-critical payment systems.

You will participate in architecture reviews, ensure automation and resiliency, and apply secure coding standards in a large corporate environment. A strong foundation in modern languages and enterprise tooling is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related disciplines.
• 2+ years of formal experience or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
• Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance.
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality and delivery speed, validated by peer review and testing.
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems.
• Applies tools within the SDLC to improve automation value and efficiency.
• Applies technical troubleshooting to breakdown solutions and solve basic problems.
• Gathers and analyzes large datasets to inform decisions for secure, stable development.
• Learns and applies system processes and skills for secure code and systems.
