Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute across the full SDLC for real-time payments. You will design, develop, test, and rollout features, participate in architecture reviews, and uphold high standards for automation, resiliency, and security in a mission-critical environment.

You will collaborate on Java/Spring Boot services, REST APIs, and possibly UI work with React. Experience with AI-assisted development tools and secure coding practices is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, cybersecurity, data science, or related field.
• 2+ years of formal software engineering experience or certification.
• Hands-on system design, development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in enterprise environments with modern programming languages and databases.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools with ability to validate outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Writes secure, high‑quality code in at least one language with limited guidance.
• Uses enterprise AI coding tools to improve quality, speed, and productivity with peer reviews.
• Designs and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream/downstream systems.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value.
• Troubleshoots to resolve basic complexity problems.
• Gathers and analyzes data to inform secure, stable app development decisions.
• Learns system processes and skills for secure, stable code and systems.
