Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer II for its Real-Time Payments team. You will contribute across design, development, testing, and deployment of high‑availability services in a mission‑critical payments environment.

Expect hands‑on coding, code reviews, and a focus on secure, resilient software with AI-assisted tooling to boost quality and speed. Strong API and cloud‑native skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in CS, cybersecurity, data science, or related disciplines.
• 2+ years of formal software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise AI-assisted development tools with ability to validate outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use, security, resiliency, and secure coding practices.
• Experience across the full SDLC and familiarity with CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Writes secure, high-quality code with limited guidance in at least one language.
• Leverages enterprise AI coding assist tools to improve quality, speed, and productivity with peer review and testing.
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems.
• Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted automation to improve value and efficiency.
• Gathers and analyzes data to identify problems and support secure, stable application development.
• Participates in architecture reviews and promotes automation and good engineering practices.
