Job summary

Jobtailor in Singapore seeks an RF engineer to lead the design and integration of CUAS sensor subsystems, focusing on RF detection, classification, and tracking. You will perform spectrum surveys, develop drone-signature algorithms, and drive data fusion across radar, EO/IR, and acoustic sensors.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams, author CONOPS and test plans, and support live demonstrations. Expect occasional extended hours and liaison with government partners.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3 years of RF engineering, signal analysis, or electronic warfare experience.
• Expertise in RF spectrum analysis, signal classification, and protocol decoding (Wi-Fi/ISM).
• Experience with CUAS platforms, sensor fusion, or defence systems.
• Strong systems integration background (RF front ends, SDRs, embedded systems).
• Proficient with MATLAB, GNU Radio, SDRs (Ettus/USRP, HackRF, BladeRF) and spectrum analyzers.
• Willing to support high-priority operational events and irregular hours.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
• Experience in machine learning for RF signal classification.
• Familiar with DoD systems engineering frameworks and MIL-STD testing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of RF-based detection, classification, and tracking for CUAS.

• Conduct RF spectrum surveys, characterize RF signatures, and develop algorithms for drone signal identification
• Integrate and optimize RF and non-RF sensor subsystems, including radar, EO/IR, and acoustic sensors, into a unified CUAS platform
• Collaborate with software and hardware teams to ensure data fusion, system interoperability, and mission readiness
• Provide on-site support for live demonstrations, critical infrastructure protection events, and emergency deployments
• Author technical documentation, including CONOPS, interface control documents, and test plans/reports
• Lead or contribute to system validation and verification through lab, field, and red team testing
• Liaise with government customers, defence partners, and internal stakeholders to refine requirements and improve system capabilities
• Monitor evolving UAS threats and maintain current knowledge of RF protocols, spectrum regulations, and counter-drone technologies

Requirements

• Strong background in systems integration, including RF front ends, SDRs, and embedded systems
• Proficiency with MATLAB, GNU Radio, SDR platforms such as Ettus/USRP, HackRF, and BladeRF, spectrum analyzers, and direction-finding equipment
• Ability and willingness to support high-priority operational events, including extended or irregular working hours
• Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills
• Experience with machine learning for RF signal classification
• Familiarity with DoD systems engineering frameworks and MIL-STD testing protocols
