Job summary

Applied Materials in Singapore is seeking an experienced Senior R&D Process Engineer to support development and implementation of next-generation semiconductor processes. The role requires hands-on R&D or process development experience and strong collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include designing experiments, characterising equipment, analysing data, resolving complex technical issues, and delivering robust process solutions while complying with safety

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in a technical discipline related to materials science or chemical engineering.
• A few years of semiconductor R&D, process development or process engineering experience.
• Experience supporting semiconductor R&D activities with knowledge of Advanced Packaging, Hybrid Bonding, Etch, or Thin Film Deposition.
• Strong skills in design of experiments, data analysis and root cause analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyse complex semiconductor process experiments.
• Support R&D activities for Advanced Packaging, Hybrid Bonding, Etch, CVD, Thin Film, or related technologies.
• Characterise processes and hardware across semiconductor systems.
• Measure film properties and interpret data to identify process improvements.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment related issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and optimise new semiconductor processes and analytical methods.
• Produce technical documentation, reports and presentations for internal or customer use.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Assist with transfer of new processes to production while ensuring quality and safety.
