Job summary

Horizon Quantum Computing seeks a senior scientist to help build software development tools for quantum computing. You will work with product, engineering and design teams to enable features and ensure correct implementation of specifications.

You should understand quantum hardware processes and model quantum circuits, while contributing to low-level control and tool development. You will mentor junior scientists and document results for internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

• PhD required with 2+ years postdoc or equivalent R&D experience.
• Experience with quantum hardware and modeling realistic quantum circuits.
• Proficient in C, C++ and Python; Matlab experience is a plus.
• Experience with professional software development and debugging.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Horizon’s products with cross‑functional teams.
• Solve scientific and technical problems and implement solutions in code.
• Develop quantum control within Horizon’s product framework.
• Mentor junior scientists to enable progress and skill growth.
• Maintain proper documentation and present results internally and externally.
• Write reports, research papers and technical documentation as required.
• Collaborate with partners to develop and protect IP related to quantum hardware and software
• Stay updated with the latest scientific and technical advances.
