Job summary

Horizon Quantum Computing is seeking a senior scientist to help build software development tools for quantum computing. You will work with product, engineering and design teams to implement features and specifications, aiming to bridge hardware and software.

You will contribute to architecture decisions and lay the foundation for future products. The role emphasizes collaboration, deep technical exploration, and mentorship, with opportunities to publish and present results while advancing

Qualifications

• A PhD degree in Computer Science, Physics, a related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years or more of post-doctoral work or equivalent R&D at a comparable level.
• Experience in quantum hardware and modeling realistic quantum circuits.
• Programming experience with pulse-level languages.
• Working knowledge of quantum computing.
• Programming experience with C, C++ and Python and preferably Matlab.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Horizon’s products with teammates.
• Solve scientific and technical problems and code solutions for product integration.
• Develop quantum control within Horizon’s product framework.
• Mentor junior scientists to advance technical skills.
• Maintain documentation and present results internally and externally.
• Write reports, papers and technical documentation as required.
• Collaborate with partners to develop IP related to quantum hardware/software.
• Stay updated on latest scientific and technical advances.
