Job summary

Accesstech Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with 5+ years of experience to oversee cost estimation for MEP projects in Singapore. You will perform quantity take-offs, develop budgets, and monitor cost variances throughout the project lifecycle.

You will assist in tendering, evaluate subcontractor bids, and administer contracts and claims. Strong knowledge of MEP systems and effective communication are essential for project success.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial, commercial or data-centre projects.
  • Good working knowledge in Mechanical and Electrical aspects.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail, adaptable and flexible.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, teamwork and initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP projects.
  • Analyze specifications and drawings to define scope and costs.

Duties & Responsibilities
Cost Estimation
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) projects;
  • Analyze and evaluate project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and associated costs;
Quantity Take-off
  • Perform quantity take-offs for materials and labour required for MEP installations;
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive quantity assessments;
Budgeting and Cost-control
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Monitor and report on cost variations, providing recommendations for cost-saving measures;
Tendering and Procurement
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and participate in the procurement process;
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring competitiveness and adherence to project requirements;
Contract Administration
  • Administer and manage contracts related to MEP works, including variations and claims;
  • Monitor contractual compliance and resolve any disputes that may arise during the project;
Value Engineering
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality;
  • Work closely with design and construction teams to implement value engineering recommendations;
Risk Management
  • Identify and assess potential risks related to cost and contract issues;
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success;
Cost Reporting
  • Generate regular cost reports to keep stakeholders informed of project financial status;
  • Provide analysis and recommendations based on cost reporting data;
Collaboration
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders;
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the overall success of the project;
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in MEP construction;
  • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and best practices;
Ad-Hoc
  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
  • Other Ad-hoc duties as assigned by the HOD.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying / Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Minimum 5 years of related working experiences in industrial, commercial or data-centre projects.
  • Good working knowledge in Mechanical and Electrical.
  • Organizational skill with attention to detail, adaptable and flexible.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team, independently and demonstrate initiative and commitment.
