Job summary

QUEK HOCK SENG CONSTRUCTION (PTE) LTD is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to manage pre- and post-contract administration, tender preparation, subcontractor negotiations, and financial reporting.

You will mentor junior members while ensuring cost control and contract compliance across projects in Singapore. This role requires a degree or diploma in Building and at least 6 years with a main contractor, with advanced Excel and QS software proficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Building or equivalent.
• Understanding of building contract law and obligations.
• Minimum 6 years of experience with a main contractor.
• Proficiency in Excel and quantity surveying software.

Responsibilities

• Administer pre- and post-contract processes to ensure compliance with obligations and timelines.
• Prepare tender submissions by pricing, take-offs, and cost evaluations.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for quotations and terms.
• Measure and verify quantities for cost control and documentation.
• Prepare variations, claims, and final accounts for changes and closure.
• Draft subcontract agreements and process payments to maintain cash flow.
• Meet deadlines and ensure project progress.
• Generate cost reports, forecasts, and management updates.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure quality deliverables.
• Perform other quantity surveying duties as required.

Job Summary

Manage pre- and post-contract administration tasks to ensure accurate cost control and contract compliance. Lead tender preparation, subcontractor negotiations, and financial reporting while mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Administer pre- and post-contract processes to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project timelines
• Prepare tender cost submissions by pricing, quantity take-offs, and cost evaluations to support bidding accuracy
• Obtain, liaise, and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive quotations and terms
• Measure and verify quantities accurately for cost control and contract documentation
• Prepare Variation Orders, claims, and final accounts to manage contract changes and financial closure
• Draft subcontract agreements and process subcontractor payments to maintain smooth project cash flow
• Complete all required contract obligations within stipulated deadlines and constraints to ensure project progress
• Generate regular cost reports, financial forecasts, and management updates to inform decision-making
• Manage and mentor junior team members to develop their skills and ensure quality deliverables
• Perform all other quantity surveying related duties as required to support project success

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree or Diploma in Building or equivalent qualification
• Understanding of building contract law and contractual obligations
• Minimum 6 years of experience working with a main contractor
• Proficient in computer literacy, including advanced Excel and quantity surveying software skills

• Salary package commensurate with experience
• Work schedule: 5.5 days per week with alternate Saturdays off
