Job summary

Onto Innovation in Singapore is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer to strengthen regional supplier quality and NPI readiness. You will lead APQP/PPAP activities, assess supplier processes, perform on-site audits, and drive improvements that boost yield and process robustness.

The role collaborates with R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain across time zones. Bachelor's in a technical field and 5–10 years' experience are required; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and ASQ certification are

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; 5–10 years in high-complexity manufacturing, supplier quality, or NPI engineering.
Hands-on APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and structured problem solving.
Experience with local or regional suppliers, contract manufacturers, or extended factories.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and ASQ certification.

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day quality and manufacturing activities at regional factories and key suppliers.
Evaluate supplier processes, equipment, controls, and manufacturing capability for consistency, repeatability, and scale.
Conduct on-site process audits, technical reviews, and build-readiness assessments for mass production transfers.
Lead improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve yield, and increase process robustness.
Lead regional supplier readiness from development to launch and high-volume production; drive APQP deliverables including PFMEA, control plans, and MSA.
Manage PPAP submissions for new components, assemblies, and critical processes.
Partner with R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure manufacturability and strong process controls.
Serve as primary extended-factory customer-quality interface for OBQ and DOA events; lead containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective action using 8D/4D.
