Job summary

Qualifications

• Lead defect triage, severity assessment, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Currently, we are looking for Senior Quality Engineer which would be based in Singapore

Responsible and responsibilities:

• Lead defect triage, severity assessment, root-cause analysis and verification of permanent corrective actions. Identify recurring defect patterns and drive preventive engineering improvements.
• Proficiency in and experience with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, REST-assured, Postman/Newman, JMeter, k6 or equivalent.
• Experience validating REST APIs, messaging or streaming integrations, relational or document databases, and data-intensive workflows.
• Own the quality engineering strategy, test architecture, quality gates and assurance plan
• Build and maintain automated tests across the test pyramid, including unit-enablement standards, API and contract tests, component and integration tests, UI tests and end-to-end business-flow tests.
• Design test harnesses, simulators, stubs and representative datasets for external systems, IoT devices and distributed energy resources where physical assets or upstream systems are unavailable or unsafe to use for routine testing.
• Lead system integration testing and end-to-end validation across SP-developed components, vendor-delivered components, Azure services, enterprise integrations and operational technology interfaces.
• Define and execute non-functional tests for performance, load, scalability, soak, resilience, failover, backup and restore, recovery, security and operational observability in collaboration with DevSecOps and SRE.
• Validate market and control workflows using deterministic scenarios, including bid creation, submission outcomes, dispatch or control instruction processing, asset response, telemetry feedback, exception handling and revenue or settlement data reconciliation.
• Establish data-quality controls and tests for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, duplication, transformation and lineage across telemetry, asset, bidding and revenue data flows.
• Embed automated tests and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines, with clear failure diagnostics, test evidence, defect traceability and release criteria.
• Work closely with product owners, planners, infrastructure, cybersecurity, vendors and engineers to resolve ambiguity and ensure that quality is engineered into delivery rather than inspected only at the end.
• Create and maintain the test strategy, traceability matrix, automated regression suite, test-data approach, environment requirements, test reports, defect metrics, release-quality assessment and handover documentation.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in quality engineering, software testing or test automation, including senior hands-on responsibility for complex production systems.
• Proven experience owning quality strategy and release assurance for cloud-native, distributed or integration-heavy applications.
• Strong practical experience designing and implementing automated API, integration, UI and end-to-end tests using modern test frameworks and programming or scripting languages.
• Ability to design tests for asynchronous and event-driven systems, including retries, ordering, duplicate events, eventual consistency and failure recovery.
• Strong understanding of test environments, test-data management, service virtualisation, simulators, mocks and stubs for systems with constrained external dependencies.
• Ability to review vendor test evidence critically, identify coverage gaps and require corrective action without assuming the vendor’s delivery accountability.
