Job summary

Luxoft in Singapore is seeking a hands-on software engineer to develop and maintain Java-based applications. You will write Python automation scripts, work with REST APIs and WebSockets, and handle SFTP file transfers to support real-time integrations with external systems.

The role requires strong knowledge of Java, Unix/Linux, and SQL, with experience across the full software development lifecycle and collaboration with QA and business stakeholders to deliver reliable software solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of strong experience in application development.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Unix/Linux, and Python scripting.
• Experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, and SFTP.
• Good knowledge of SQL and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support applications using Java while following coding standards and best practices.
• Create and maintain automation scripts using Python and Unix shell scripting to streamline tasks.
• Work with APIs and WebSockets to integrate applications with external systems and enable real-time communication.
• Perform file transfers and data exchange using SFTP as part of workflows.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval, validation, and database operations.
• Collaborate with senior developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to implement enhancements and bug fixes.
• Monitor application performance and provide timely support for incidents and service requests.
