Job summary

TANGSPAC CONSULTING PTE LTD invites an experienced Software Engineer for a contract role in Singapore. You will develop and maintain applications using Java 8+ with Spring Boot and Python, and build REST/SOAP services.

Work with Oracle/MySQL databases, JMS/IBM MQ messaging, and implement TDD with strong focus on code quality and secure practices. You will collaborate with stakeholders across tech and business domains to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java 8+, Spring Boot and Python.
• At least 5 years of hands-on Java & Python development experience.
• Good knowledge of Spring Core, JUnit, TDD and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with REST/SOAP, JMS/IBM MQ and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle and/or MySQL databases and SQL optimization.
• Experience with Maven, Git, IntelliJ and SonarQube/SonarLint.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Java 8+, Spring Boot and Python.
• Design and implement scalable solutions based on business and system requirements.
• Develop Python applications/scripts for automation, data processing, system integration and application support.
• Analyze and resolve complex application and legacy system issues.
• Develop and maintain REST/SOAP web services and messaging solutions using JMS/IBM MQ.
• Apply software engineering principles including object-oriented design, algorithms and data structures.
• Implement TDD, unit testing and acceptance testing to ensure software quality.
• Design and optimize SQL queries using Oracle/MySQL and relational database concepts.
• Follow secure coding, performance and code quality standards.
• Use Git, Maven, IntelliJ and SonarQube/SonarLint for development and code quality management.
• Perform basic Linux shell scripting to support development and deployment activities.
• Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Banking/fintech experience is advantageous.
