Job summary

Sonova Group is seeking a seasoned Value Engineering Project Manager to own the end-to-end VE pipeline from ideation to implementation. You will drive cost-saving opportunities using Should-Cost modelling and DTC principles across R&D, procurement, and manufacturing.

Collaborating with Regulatory and Quality teams, you will ensure ISO 13485 and 21 CFR/CE alignment while guiding projects through stage-gate processes and validating changes before production release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.).
• MBA or advanced degree is an advantage.

You will report to Director, Value Engineering Project Management, serve as the project owner connecting R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs. More about the role:

• Project Leadership: Own the end-to-end VE pipeline from ideation to implementation, ensuring projects are tracked and deliver measurable savings.
• Cost Analysis: Analyze product BOMs and manufacturing processes using Should-Cost modelling and Design-to-Cost (DTC) principles to identify and quantify financial opportunities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D and Manufacturing to evaluate design alternatives, and work with Regulatory and Quality teams to ensure compliance with ISO 13485, FDA, and CE standards.
• Execution & Change Management: Drive projects through stage-gate processes, overseeing engineering changes, validation plans, and qualifications prior to production release.

More about you:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.). MBA or advanced degree is an advantage.
• Experience: 10 years minimum in value engineering, product cost management, or engineering project management within the medical device or a similarly regulated industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in BOM analysis, cost modelling, DFM/DFA, and lean principles. Working knowledge of ISO 13485 QMS and Design Control (21 CFR Part 820 / MDSAP).
• Tools: Experience with PLM and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Windchill) and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Certifications (Preferred): PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt.
