Job summary

PM Group in Singapore is seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer within the Project Management Department to deliver project controls, cost management and data analytics for complex capital projects in life sciences, pharma, and manufacturing sectors.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, with preference for manufacturing, mission critical and pharma/biopharma backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Manufacturing, Mission Critical and Pharma/Biopharma preferred.
• Knowledge of costing and scheduling of capital projects.
• Familiarity with local codes, permits and building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare baseline schedules across project phases (Pre-concept to Commissioning).
• Coordinate planning sessions to define activities and scheduling.
• Set up progress measurement and tracking for projects.
• Collaborate with project leads and stakeholders to drive execution.
• Generate look-ahead schedules for relevant teams.
• Monitor critical paths and follow up on issues with stakeholders.
• Highlight scheduling risks to project leads and capital project manager.
• Prepare and issue regular project reports (biweekly/monthly variance).
• Set up and maintain Staffing Plan for projects.
• Track expenditures against baseline budgets and highlight variances.

PM Group is hiring a Senior Project Controls Engineer to join the Project Management Department in Singapore. The department provides project controls, cost management and data analytics to our project teams on complex, capital projects in the life sciences, food and beverage, mission critical, advanced manufacturing, and medtech sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use Microsoft Project to prepare overall baseline schedules comprising various phases i.e. Pre-concept/Concept Design; Basic Design; Detailed Design; Construction & Commissioning; Qualifications.
• Coordinate planning sessions as necessary to formulate project activities and scheduling.
• Set-up progress measurement/tracking for the various projects.
• Coordinate with the various project leads and stakeholders so as to take a proactive approach in driving projects.
• Generate look ahead schedules to relevant project team members.
• Monitor critical paths and follow up accordingly with the relevant stakeholders.
• Highlight to the various project leads and capital project manager of any scheduling issues or potential problems.
• Prepare and issue regular project reports including biweekly/monthly variance reports.
• Set up and maintain Staffing Plan for the various projects as appropriate.
• Track and monitor projects as per baseline project budgets, highlighting variances.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree holder in Engineering discipline
• Min 10 years of relevant experience
• Prior work experience in Manufacturing, Mission Critical and Pharma/Biopharma industries is preferred
• Knowledge of costing and scheduling of capital projects
• Vast knowledge of all local legal issues, permits, and building codes involved
