Job description

Description -

A strong program manager goes far beyond managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables

Description -

A strong program manager goes far beyond managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables — you will act as a strategic partner and entrepreneurial lead within our global setup to operate with more clarity, predictability, and influence across Product, R&D, Engineering, Business, and partner teams.

As part our Global Experience Design (GxD) Operations team

that manages programs across both the CPSS and OPS portfolio, you will join us to drive Operational Excellence and continuously seek better ways to deliver impact.

Rather than simply executing plans, you bring a clear and informed point of view, actively shaping direction, challenging assumptions, and identifying new opportunities for value creation. You connect the dots across functions, anticipate risks and market shifts, and drive alignment toward meaningful outcomes.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Program Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex software and digital solutions programs for our global Printer portfolio. This role is responsible for driving cross-functional initiatives—from concept through deployment—ensuring alignment with business strategy, customer experience goals, and measurable outcomes.

You will be part of a global Operations team that has strong program management discipline with technical fluency, stakeholder leadership, and a track record of delivering scalable programs across multiple time zones. You will partner closely with UX leads, product owners, technical program managers, engineering leads, and business stakeholders to make sure design work starts with enough context, has clear owners, is tracked in the right systems, and is represented accurately in program planning.

Role Scope

This role is critical to close recurring operational gaps

  • unclear intake, late or incomplete requirements, weak ownership mapping, design work not translated into Jira or program artifacts, schedule commitments made before design estimation, and missed alignment across platform, product, and design teams.
  • turn ambiguity into a clear plan whilst partnering with various design leads and partners to arrive at an optimal way of working.
Play a critical role in Operational Excellence
  • own the operating system for design execution across software and digital solution programs. This includes intake, scoping, prioritization support, design milestone planning, dependency tracking, decision logging, stakeholder communication, and follow-through from early requirements to design review, handoff, engineering sizing, launch readiness, and post-launch learning.
Key Responsibilities
Design Intake, Scope, and Requirements Readiness
  • Own the front door for design requests by capturing the request, business goal, user problem, expected outcome, target customer, impacted platform, required stakeholders, and delivery timeline.
  • Confirm whether requirements are ready for design to start, or whether additional product, technical, legal, privacy, security, or business clarification is needed.
  • Partner with product owners and technical program managers before delivery dates are committed, so design estimates and dependencies are included in the plan.
Design Planning, Jira, and Traceability
  • Translate approved design work into clear Jira epics, stories, tasks, or linked design deliverables in partnership with UX leads and product owners.
  • Maintain visibility across design workstreams, including status, dependencies, blockers, design review timing, handoff readiness, and milestone risk.
  • Keep design artifacts connected to program artifacts, including PRDs, Jira items, requirements documents, review notes, decision logs, and launch plans.
Cross-Functional Alignment and Escalation
  • Act as a connective layer across UX, Product, R&D, Engineering, Data, Business, Legal, Privacy, Security, QA, and partner teams.
  • Identify misalignment early, especially when platform teams, product teams, and design teams have different assumptions about scope, schedule, or ownership.
  • Escalate risks with clear options, impact, and recommendation instead of only reporting problems.
Design Operations and Process Improvement
  • Improve how the design team works by standardizing intake, planning, review, handoff, reporting, and communication practices.
  • Build reusable templates for intake briefs, design plans, Jira handoff, review notes, status reporting, and post-launch learnings.
  • Partner with design leadership to identify workflow bottlenecks, resource gaps, repeated failure points, and opportunities for automation.
  • Support AI-enabled design operations where useful, such as intake triage, request tracking, copy review workflows, design audit support, and status summarization.
Program Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead and manage multiple interconnected product initiatives aligned to business objectives.
  • Define program scope, roadmap, milestones, and success metrics (OKRs/KPIs).
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery lifecycle (discovery, design, development, launch, optimization.
  • Ensure delivery is on time, within scope, budget, and quality targets.
Planning, Budget & Governance
  • Develop and manage program budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
  • Establish governance frameworks, reporting cadence, and performance tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security, and regulatory requirements.
Digital & Software Delivery Excellence
  • Drive adoption of Agile/Hybrid delivery methodologies across teams.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery of digital products, platforms, and user experiences.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies (e.g., AI, cloud, data platforms) and recommend innovations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • - Bachelor’s degree in any related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program management, project management, design operations, product operations, or related experience in software, digital product, UX, or enterprise platform environments.
  • Strong understanding of the product design lifecycle, including discovery, requirements framing, UX definition, design iteration, design review, handoff, implementation support, validation, launch, and optimization.
  • Working experience in the Design (or related) industry is an advantage
  • Ability to manage multiple complex workstreams across time zones with clear communication, structured follow-up, and strong attention to detail.
