Job summary

ST Engineering Mission Software & Services seeks a senior designer to lead user-centred design across the full product lifecycle. You will coach client design teams, champion users, and drive scalable design across cross-functional groups. This is a consultancy role focused on delivering great design and enabling others.

You will collaborate on generative research, synthesize insights, and craft high-fidelity workflows and prototypes for diverse clients and sectors.

Qualifications

• 8+ years across the full design lifecycle with a user-centred mindset.
• Coaching experience enabling designers through pairing, workshops, or mentorship programs.
• Expert in Figma; proficient with prototyping tools and collaborative platforms; able to build and maintain design systems.
• Design Thinking, JTBD, Service Design, WCAG principles; evidence-based approach to design decisions.
• Empathy and a strong user advocate; thrive in ambiguous consultancy environments.
• Bonus: familiarity with SG Gov Design System (SGDS) or related government work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct generative and evaluative research to uncover real user problems.
• Synthesize insights into clear findings that shape product direction.
• Lead design on cross-functional teams from concept to high-fidelity Deliverables.
• Craft workflows, wireframes, prototypes, and designs that align teams around the user experience.
• Run co-creation workshops: journey mapping, design studios, client critiques.
• Present work to senior leadership and drive alignment decisions.
• Coach client designers through pairing; tailor enablement to strengths and gaps.
• Foster psychological safety and continuous improvement of design craft.
