Senior Process Engineer - Plant Safety & Optimization

Job summary

Randstad Singapore seeks a Senior Process Engineer to act as a technical anchor within the Production Team. You will partner with shift operations and facility owners to uphold safety and reliability while driving continuous improvements across the plant.

The role requires 8+ years in process engineering, strong PSM knowledge, and experience with large-scale facilities. Cross-disciplinary understanding and a CEM are advantageous for this leadership position.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years hands-on process engineering in heavy processing, petrochemical, or large-scale gas facilities.
• Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Process Hazard Analysis.
• Proven track record in commissioning, operating, and troubleshooting large-scale plant systems.
• Cross-disciplinary understanding (electrical, instrumentation, or mechanical) and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Troubleshooting: act as SME for routine and non-routine operations, troubleshooting complex equipment and process anomalies to maximize plant uptime.
• Optimization & Continuous Improvement: analyze plant KPIs to identify and lead process, energy, and equipment reliability improvements.
• Engineering & Project Management: conduct detailed process engineering analyses and own selected MOC projects for facility modifications.
• Process Safety & Compliance: champion process safety through reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, FMEA, RAM) and validate operation/start-up manuals against design specs.
• Incident Investigation: lead RCA for operational abnormalities and safety incidents and ensure robust corrective actions.
• Emergency Response: participate in site emergency response framework during drills and events.
