Job summary

RECRUIT123 PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a Process Technology / Plant Engineer (Chemical) to support process optimization, plant reliability, and operational excellence.

You will develop and review process documentation, support safety studies, and work with operations and maintenance on turnarounds and projects. Ideal candidates have 3–8 years of process engineering experience in chemical/petrochemical plants, strong safety knowledge, and skills with Aspen HYSYS.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–8 years of process engineering experience in chemical/petrochemical plants.
• Strong knowledge of process safety concepts (PSM) and local regs (Singapore).
• Experience with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS) is a plus.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support for plant operations, including troubleshooting and optimization.
• Develop and update PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances and operating procedures.
• Support HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA studies and PSM compliance.
• Monitor performance against design and recommend improvements.
• Lead or support root cause analysis of deviations and incidents.
• Collaborate with ops, maintenance, and technical teams on turnarounds and projects.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements (MOM/NEA/PSM).
• Provide technical guidance and training to staff.
• Participate in MOC for new equipment and changes.
• Support commissioning and start-ups for new units.

Process Technology / Plant Engineer (Chemical)

Our clients are chemical/petrochemical manufacturing facilities in Singapore seeking experienced Process Technology / Plant Engineers to support process optimization, plant reliability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support for plant operations, including troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and process optimization
• Develop, review, and update process technology documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances, operating procedures)
• Support process safety studies (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA) and ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements
• Monitor plant performance against design parameters and recommend improvements to yield, efficiency, and reliability
• Lead or support root cause analysis for process deviations, equipment failures, and incidents
• Work closely with operations, maintenance, and technical teams on plant turnarounds, capital projects, and process modifications
• Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations (e.g., MOM, NEA, PSM requirements)
• Provide technical guidance and training to process technicians and operations staff
• Participate in management of change (MOC) processes for new equipment, process changes, or modifications
• Support commissioning and start-up activities for new units or process upgrades

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 3–8 years of process engineering experience within a chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing plant (experience level flexible depending on specific client mandate)
• Strong understanding of process safety principles, PSM, and relevant Singapore regulatory requirements
• Hands-on experience with process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen, HYSYS) an advantage
• Experience with HAZOP/HAZID studies and MOC processes preferred
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
• Strong communication skills with ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, maintenance, and EHS teams
• Willingness to be involved in shift support or on‑call arrangements during turnarounds/critical operations as needed
