The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for leading process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities to ensure robust, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing performance. This role provides technical leadership across production processes, drives root-cause analysis for complex issues, and supports strategic initiatives to improve yield, productivity, cost, and equipment/process reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process monitoring, analysis, and optimization to improve performance, yield, and stability
- Investigate complex process deviations, defects, and equipment-related issues
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for recurring problems
- Develop, validate, and implement process improvements, standards, and controls
- Support new product introduction, process transfer, and qualification activities
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Industrial Engineering, and R&D teams
- Define and track key process KPIs such as:
- Yield
- Scrap
- Throughput
- Cycle time
- Downtime
- Process capability
- Review and update process documentation, specifications, and work instructions
- Lead or support continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to shop-floor teams
- Present technical findings, action plans, and project progress to management
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related STEM field
- Relevant experience in Cu CMP, with AMAT Mirra experience highly preferred
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing principles, process engineering, and CMP fundamentals
- Ability to understand semiconductor process flows and adjust equipment parameters based on process requirements
- Experience analyzing wafer surface defects such as scratches and residues, as well as material removal rate performance
- Data analysis skills; proficiency in data analysis tools is an advantage
- Strong hands‑on capability and willingness to work in a cleanroom environment
- Good communication, coordination, and teamwork skills
- Strong logical thinking and systematic problem‑solving ability
- Good English reading comprehension and ability to write technical documentation
