Talent Trader Group in Singapore is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and maintain industrial automation software using C++, C#, and WPF. You will interface with hardware via Windows APIs and work with motion control and distributed I/O systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing industrial automation software using C++, C#, and WPF.
• Experience programming and integrating motion control cards and distributed I/O systems for industrial machinery.
• Strong knowledge of Windows API development, system-level programming, and advanced memory management techniques.
• Solid understanding of the C++ Standard Library (STL), with emphasis on templates and reusable components.
• Experience with Windows synchronization and communication objects, particularly events and mutexes, for multithreading apps.
• Knowledge of Windows GDI/GDI+ is advantageous.
• Experience with Borland/Embarcadero C++ Builder and VCL is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills; structured troubleshooting approach.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with software, electrical, and mechanical teams.
• Capable of working independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain reliable and high-performance industrial automation software using C++, C#, and WPF.
• Utilize Windows APIs and relevant libraries to interface with and control hardware components.
• Develop machine control functionalities using motion control cards to achieve accurate and precise motion.
• Integrate distributed I/O systems for sensor data acquisition and actuator control.
• Implement reliable software-hardware communication protocols for efficient data exchange.
• Apply multithreading, synchronization, and concurrency techniques to optimize performance.
• Implement memory management using memory-mapped files, file mapping objects, and memory sections.
• Leverage the C++ Standard Library, templates, and reusable components to improve code quality.
• Work with Windows synchronization objects (events, mutexes) for inter-thread communication.
• Develop user interfaces using WPF or WinUI for monitoring and machine-control functionality.
• Produce clean, well-documented, maintainable, and efficient code in line with best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to translate requirements into software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with other developers.
• Stay up-to-date with developments in C++, industrial automation, motion control, and Windows development.
