Job summary

ytl powerseraya pte. limited in Singapore is seeking a capable power plant operator to run a Combined Cycle Plant safely and efficiently.

You will oversee startups, shutdowns, and routine operations, ensuring dispatch schedules and safety standards are met. The role requires Nitec/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, knowledge of plant processes and safety protocols, and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Maximo EAM.

Qualifications

• Nitec/ Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of plant processes, operations and safety protocols.
• Relevant experience in power plant operations or related industries.
• Possession of a 2nd Grade Engineer (Steam) or 1st Grade Engineer (Steam Combustion Engine) Certificate of Competency is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Maximo EAM or equivalent software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; self-motivated and a team player.
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Combined Cycle Power Plant safely and efficiently to meet output requirements.
• Prepare for, execute, and monitor startup, shutdown, and routine operations.
• Monitor operating parameters and correct deviations for optimal performance.
• Identify, report, and rectify defects in systems, plant, and equipment.
• Adhere to dispatch schedules, conduct tests and inspections as required.
• Respond to emergencies, equipment failures, and outages.
• Manage unit operations and maintenance with safety compliance.
• Monitor work areas and inspect tools to prevent unsafe conditions.
• Prepare daily shift logs and operational reports.
• Liaise with EMA PSO, PUB, NEA, SCDF on shift matters.
