Job summary

YTL PowerSeraya Pte. Limited is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer to support the Asset Management Department, focusing on operation, maintenance, and optimisation of electrical systems within a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant in Singapore.

This role requires hands-on experience with high‑voltage equipment, generator protection, and plant automation, ensuring electrical reliability, safety and efficiency across all plant operations; you will review maintenance strategies and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
8+ years in power generation, preferably CCGT.
Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/NEC standards.
Experience with high-voltage equipment and protection.
Proficient in ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD Electrical.
Familiar with Condition Monitoring, PdM & Digital Twin.
Strong communication and project management.
Experience leading outages with contractors.
GIS 400kV/230kV/66kV experience.
Knowledge of grid interconnection and load dispatch.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical authority for Electrical assets.
Develop maintenance strategy integrating CBM/PM/PdM.
Manage lifecycle of electrical assets from acquisition to decommissioning.
Develop strategies for utilisation, performance optimisation and upgrades.
Design, review, and maintain electrical systems including gas and steam turbine generators, transformers, switch gears, MCCs, and auxiliary systems.
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of electrical faults.
Support outages, including scope development, contractor coordination, and testing.
Develop Outage QC checklist and hold points for critical outage stages.
Ensure compliance with grid codes, electrical safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Develop and maintain single-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical documentation.
Monitor and analyse electrical performance data to optimise plant efficiency.
Interface with SCADA, DCS, and PLC systems for control and monitoring.
Lead electrical upgrade projects, including feasibility studies and CAPEX planning.
Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical support and spare parts.
Conduct arc flash studies, relay coordination, and protection system reviews.
Monitor equipment performance data to identify reliability risks and improvements.
Develop KPIs for engineering functions and asset performance.
Lead in RCA for complex plant issues.
Collaborate with OEMs and vendors for upgrades.
Oversee O&M budgets and manage budgets for projects.
