Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in Singapore seeks a Senior Engineer II (Hardware Design) to lead power electronics design for data centre servers and rack-level systems. You will define power architectures (AC/DC and DC/DC), perform power budgeting, simulate and validate designs, and collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and thermal teams to meet safety and Open Compute Project standards.

The role requires 5+ years in power electronics, hands-on PCB work, and experience with Cadence Allegro or Altium.

Qualifications

• Degree/Master in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in power electronics design and hardware systems.
• Deep understanding of power design topologies (buck, boost) and WBG semiconductors such as GaN/SiC.
• Experience integrating software and hardware for hardware systems.
• Familiar with Product Development Life Cycle and NPI processes.
• Experience using CAD tools such as Cadence Allegro, Siemens PADS or Altium Designer.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ISO9001 awareness.

Responsibilities

• Define power supply architectures (AC/DC and DC/DC) for data centre servers and rack systems.
• Design system power trees and perform power budgeting with thermal collaboration.
• Select power supplies for high DC input voltage and high current low voltages for digital circuitry.
• Analyze efficiency, thermal dissipation and loss budgeting for switching devices and components.
• Perform schematic capture and guide PCB layouts to minimize EMI/EMC and ensure signal integrity.
• Conduct simulations for power conversion, thermal management, and magnetic design.
• Lead board bring-up, characterize designs, and validate power consumption against budget.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical and thermal teams to meet constraints.
• Ensure designs meet safety and regulatory standards and align with OCP standards.
• Work with cross-functional and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and support production.
