Job summary

Sanmina-SCI Systems Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a senior power electronics engineer to define and implement power architectures for data centre servers and rack-level systems. You will optimize efficiency and density, design power trees, and coordinate with thermal and firmware teams to ensure robust, compliant solutions.

You will conduct simulations, validate budgets, lead board bring-up, and ensure designs meet regulatory standards while supporting production and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Master in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in power electronics design for data centres or communication infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of power design topologies (buck, boost) and wide-bandgap semiconductors (GaN, SiC).
  • Understanding integration of software and hardware required.
  • NPI project execution experience and familiarity with Product Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience using CAD tools (Cadence Allegro, Siemens PADS or Altium Designer).
  • Experience with power integrity (PI) simulation tools is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001.

Responsibilities

  • Define power supply architectures (AC/DC and DC/DC) for data centre servers and rack-level systems, optimizing for efficiency and power density.
  • Design system power trees and perform power budgeting calculations; determine thermal power budget with thermal engineers.
  • Design and select power supply solutions for 12-400V input to high current low voltages.
  • Analyze efficiency, calculate thermal dissipation and losses for switching devices, magnetic and passive components.
  • Lead schematic capture and guide PCB layouts to minimize EMI/EMC and ensure signal/power integrity.
  • Conduct simulations for power conversion efficiency, thermal management and magnetic design.
  • Perform board bring-up, validate power consumption against budgets and conduct lab testing.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical and thermal teams to meet constraints.
  • Ensure designs meet safety/regulatory requirements and align with OCP standards.
