Job summary

HOYA Electronics Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Polishing Engineer to optimize polishing processes in our mask blank factory, improving yield, capacity and overall process performance.

You will work with cross-functional teams to conduct Root Cause Analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement through data analysis and reporting, with a focus on maintaining high quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or 2–3 years in semiconductor industry preferred.
• Experience in wet cleaning, CMP polishing, or related roles is preferred.
• Proficient in Power BI and Excel.
• Knowledge of SPC, DOE and FMEA.

Responsibilities

• Drive the improvement of polishing processes to enhance yield, quality, and manufacturing capacity.
• Own and sustain polishing processes, ensuring consistent performance and compliance with operational requirements.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve process and product issues; troubleshoot processes and equipment to maximize machine reliability and uptime.
• Analyse process data, perform experiments, and prepare technical reports to support decision-making and performance tracking.
• Develop, maintain, and improve SOPs for manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate on equipment qualification, installation, upgrades, and maintenance while supporting spare parts and consumables management.
• Any ad hoc duties assigned by supervisor / manager
